The ISHR bids farewell to former international Treasurer Henriette Baroness de Payrebrune

(Bonn, 02.05.2025) The former Treasurer of ISHR Henriette Baroness de Payrebrune, died suddenly on Easter Monday at the age of 83. The President of the International Council of the International Society of Human Rights (ISHR) remembers her to the global public:

“Henriette Baroness de Payrebrune de Saint Seveby, by profession one of the directors of Deutsche Bank, was Treasurer of the German Section of ISHR from 1994 to 1998 and became Treasurer of the International Council of ISHR until 2016. She oversaw the election of a new President of ISHR at the International Council meeting in Bonn April 5, 2014, and when I was elected, she asked me if I would accept the position and was the first to congratulate me, a moment I will never forget. Together with Karl Hafen, she was the one who introduced me to the details of my office. She was involved with ISHR all her life and played an important role in maintaining close contact with all Latin American members as well as Latin American guests at the annual conferences in Bonn, Germany. She was a citizen of the world with her connections and interests, always selflessly committed to helping others. It was a pleasure to work with her, she was very professional but also very warm.”
